(More customer reviews)This is the third lunch carrier I've bought in the past couple of months, and although it's the best one yet, I'm still not satisfied.
The pros:
It's nice that it's made of recycled materials. It has an adjustable shoulder strap which is essential if you need to carry other things, although the strap is slippery and won't stay on my shoulder for long. The inside of the tote is tall enough to fit a one liter water bottle, or you can carry it in one of the outer mesh pockets on the end. It's a nice looking lunch bag; I am not embarrassed to be seen with it, although I would call it a feminine lunch tote as it somewhat resembles a purse.
The cons:
It doesn't keep my food as chilled as most insulated lunchboxes, and although it says "insulated", it just looks like one layer of plastic to me. It is also one of those stiff, noisy/crinkly types of plastic so you make noise when you carry it. Mostly I struggle with the lack of stiffness in it's shape. If I put the filled water bottle inside, the bottle tips over, and I worry about it leaking, but if I put it in the pocket on the end, it makes the light plastic pouch so lopsided, it is hard to carry and set down. Also, if you put just about anything in the zippered outer pocket, since the pocket is sewn about two inches up from the base, when you set the lunch bag down, it pitches forward and sometimes falls on it's face. Personally, I would rather have a non-collapsible lunch tote with enough sturdiness and rigidness that it could be set on its base and remain standing. I am thinking that if I can find a smaller insulated lunch sack for just my sandwich and fruit, I could put it inside this bag as I think it would be roomy enough it. It could provide some extra support and insulation, and then the extra space inside this tote could be used for papers or other items that might not travel well next to food.
