This bento box is very well made and definitely has a quality feel to it. I was expecting a somewhat plain plastic box but was surprised by the (slightly) rubbery matte black finish that this box has. The art is nice and although it's hard to tell in the photo, the calligraphy is glittery and slightly raised. I have some concern that this might wear off/chip away over time but we'll see.
The other reviewer mentioned nice packaging but mine came in a plain cardboard wrap with a cutout so you could see the design. The only label or writing on this of any sort was a sticker that said "Made in Japan". There was no real packaging to speak of. Not a complaint whatsoever, just an observation to note the different experiences we've had.
Overall, I love the size and design of this box. Having a lid on the top compartment is great for containing anything with sauce. I haven't had any spills yet! I will post some customer images for size comparison and to show what the inside looks like.
I would definitely recommend this box!

This rectangular bento box has rounded corners and features smooth black body with a lid that's accented by swirled brush strokes and Japanese calligraphy in silver for "Bi," which translates as the God of Warriors. The bento is composed of two compartments that stack on top of each other. The upper compartment seals shut with a fitted plastic lid and it doubles as a lid for the bottom compartment. The bento's illustrated lid then covers the top compartment, and an elastic band secures the two compartments together when traveling.

Kotubuki bento boxes are made in Japan of durable food-safe plastic. It measures 8-1/8 by 3-3/8 by 3-1/8 inches. The top and bottom compartments are both microwave and dishwasher safe; the inner lid that covers the top compartment is not microwave safe and should be hand washed.
