(More customer reviews)I filled this box with water and measured a total of 575mL. I even stacked the top tier to make sure I hadn't overfilled the bottom and put the lid on the top for the same reason. I love that it is so helpful with portion assessment. I grew up with no concept of proper eating proportions so discovering bento has been such a blessing. My daughter, 15, loves it and says it's just the right amount to leave her full and satisfied at lunch.
I've packed a few lunches in it by now and am still thrilled. I have been able to fit quite a lot into it. It's simple to remove the small section insert that goes into the top tier if you wish to pack the box differently on some days. I have discovered that I prefer to use a wide orange non-latex "rubberband" instead of the blue elastic. The band doesn't slide, adds a fun splash of color, and doesn't worry me about my latex allergy since most elastics are natural rubber-based. The majority of you won't need to worry about allergy but you might like to try a rubberband if you worry that the elastic could slide off the box or want the contrast it can provide.
