(More customer reviews)I love the idea of a bento box, but this one just doesn't fit my needs very well. The outer carrying case is great, but I replaced the lunch box part with my own lidded containers. The bento containers are just too small. The dipping sauce one is about 1x1-1/2 inches and probably holds no more than a couple tablespoons. The largest one holds maybe a good handful of something. Several of the containers have no lids, so there isn't much I can take in them. I generally eat some combination of soup, salad, and fruit for lunch, so the containers need lids or they leak all over, and they need to be about twice the size. Even dry things like crackers or relatively dry things like edamame make a mess without a lid. The utensils and water bottle are nice, but I could grab a fork and spoon out of the kitchen on my way out the door...I don't need special ones.
Maybe this is really designed for kids, but knowing my own offspring, they'd lose most of the little boxes within a week, so maybe not, either.
The carrying case is the good part. It allows me to arrange my own containers (Rubbermaid is more leakproof than Tupperware, in my experience) with a cloth napkin, silverware, whole fruit, and whatever else, and it has a strap that I can hang over the handle of my wheeled briefcase, so I do use that a lot, but I wish I had shopped around more. There was no need to pay for a bento box I don't use.
