(More customer reviews)The containers themselves are very nice -- attractive, solid, with snug fitting lids. However, as a lunch set, it misses the mark:
-- The three containers just don't seem to "go" together. Using all 3 at once, they don't really fit well in the bag. The only way to fit them is to stack one on top of the other, and by the time you have all three piled up, the drawstring on the bag can't close all the way. Instead of the 33 oz square, 47 oz rectangle, and the 17 oz rectangle, a better choice would have been to omit the 33 oz container and instead have two 17oz along with the 47 oz. This way you could have stacked the two smaller containers side by side on the larger rectangle and have room to properly close the lunch bag.
-- I personally think that the size of the containers is too much for lunch. I would have been happier with a collection of smaller containers -- better for portion control.
-- The lunch bag seems to be well constructed enough, the fabric is thin and I would have preferred a bit of padding on the bottom. Since the containers are glass, there is a bit of jarring "KLUNK!" when you set the bag down.
-- The lunch bag has no pockets -- a side pocket on the outside would have been nice so I could store my tea bags, napkin, and silverware.
I really wanted this to work. I've been in search of the ultimate lunch set, and in particular I wanted glass because I don't like microwaving plastic. Finding a glass Bento-style lunch set seems to be a near impossibility. This was close, but Bormioli Rocco needs to rework the idea with smaller containers that fit properly inside a padded lunch bag with side pockets.
